VISION and MISSION
All research projects at Mindanao State University - General Santos City involving human subjects are conducted to the highest ethical standards.
To protect the psychological and physical welfare, rights, dignity, and safety of research participants, to facilitate ethical research through an efficient and effective review process, to promote ethical standards of human research, and to review research under the National Ethical Guidelines for Health Research (2011) and local regulatory roles.
The MSU-GSC IERC operates under the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Extension (OVCRE). It is responsible for the review and final approval of the human subject studies to be conducted.
SCOPES
The MSU-GSC IERC accepts the following protocols for review:
MSU-GSC internally-funded researches
MSU-GSC externally-funded researches
Researches done by students of the university
Researches referred from the PNHRS, PHREB, DOH, industry organizations, etc.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The MSU-GSC IERC Staff receives all study protocol package submissions. The MSU-GSC IERC Staff shall ensure that the submitted study protocol package is complete. In cases where the submitted study protocol package is incomplete, the MSU-GSC IERC Staff shall notify the concerned Principal Investigator.
