Being a mother and wife is the joy of my life, and I am very blessed to come home from work everyday to two little boys and a husband who love me as much as I love them. 

My sons are the reason my students and career matter. Educators who are passionate about best practice and doing what is best for kids are instrumental in childhood development. My students get one childhood, and as their only 1st grade teacher, it is my duty to leave a lasting, positive imapact. 

Besides "Momma," Mrs. MacVane is my other favorite name to be called! I've been a general education first grade teacher for the last 7 school years, and I can truly say "First Grade Rocks!" 

My teaching partner and I spend our days making instruction explicit and the moments in between memorable. We even celebrated the 67th day of school this year... if you know, you know.
