Ari Pittenger (she/her/hers) is an undergraduate student at Michigan State University. She is triple majoring in Sociology, Global & International Studies, and Women’s Studies. She hopes in the future to work with children, women, and LGBTQIA+ communities on a global health perspective. She originally is from Flint Michigan, but through the COVID-19 crisis and Michigan’s lock down she is still on campus.
Megan (she/her/hers) is currently a Michigan State University sophomore pursuing a degree in Humanities Pre-Law and a minor in Women and Gender Studies from the comfort of her own home. She is a daughter, a sister, a woman, but first and foremost, a human being trying to stay sane in an insane world.
Aidan Winters (he/him/his) is a third year studying psychology here at MSU with a minor in Women and Gender Studies. He is originally from a very small town, Ionia, MI, and is SO happy to be out of there! He is planning to pursue a future in the field of Diversity and Inclusions after going to graduate school for Human Resources Management.
Adrienne (she/her/hers), a junior at Michigan State University, is majoring in Women’s and Gender Studies. Originally from Alpena, Michigan and moved to East Lansing for furthering education being passionate about women, gender, and the complexities of each in modern society and history. Taking passions into a profession, this journal accounts for how feminism is for everyone - even in the course of COVID-19.
Nekiya Davis (she/her/hers) is currently a senior at Michigan State University. She is a Criminal Justice major. She will be working as a youth advocate for the summer of 2020, working with juvenile delinquents. Her hometown is Detroit, MI where she enjoys spending time with her family. In the future she would like to attend law school and obtain a law degree to practice criminal law. A fun-fact about her is that she loves to cook!
Abby Jaroszewicz (she/her/hers) is a senior English major with a concentration in Popular Culture and minors in Linguistics and Women’s and Gender Studies. After graduation she plans to attend graduate school at MSU for Student Affairs Administration. During this pandemic Abby is staying at her apartment in East Lansing with her roommate and their two cats, trying to stay sane in these strange times.
SaMya Overall (she/her/hers) is a freshman English major at MSU with a minor in Women and Gender Studies. She is also the Campus Features Reporter at The State News. She plans to work in publishing to encourage women authors of color to share their stories and provide a fair avenue for them to do so. Different voices have power.
Zoë Schultheiss (they/them/theirs) is a non-traditional student at MSU majoring in the Residential College of the Arts and Humanities with a minor in LGBTQ+ Studies. They are a 23-year-old Lansing resident and queer radical leftist with a focus on LGBTQ+ history and the study of capitalism as a system of oppression. Zoë is spending the pandemic isolated with their family and passes the time by collaging, binge-watching TV with their cat, and playing lots of Smash Bros.

Katie Martin (she / her / hers) is a senior Psychology major at MSU with a Women's and Gender Studies minor. She plans on going to grad school to become a School Psychologist. While on lock-down, she's staying at home with her parents in Troy and baking to escape reality (you should really try Chrissy Teigen's banana bread - it's incredible).
Madison Totty (she/her/hers) is a current sophomore with a major in Women and Gender's Studies at Michigan State University, hoping to become a future public health professional. She is glad to share her thoughts and experiences during this time with others.
Eleanor Smith (she/her/hers) is a freshmen at Michigan State University studying English with a minor in Women and Gender Studies. Even when Eleanor isn't under quarantine, she enjoys riding her bike, reading books, and playing video games.
Maddie Smith (she/her/hers) is a junior studying Psychology, Human Capital & Society, and Women's & Gender Studies. Her hobbies include playing tennis, doing yoga, trying out new recipes, and enjoying the outdoors. She will be sharing her experiences during quarantine from Grand Rapids, MI.
Tammi Cervantes (she/her) is a senior political science major with minors in Chicano/Latino studies and Women and Gender studies. She plans on going to grad school for a duel masters in Public Policy and Non-profit management. She grew up in southwest Detroit and will be talking about her experiences being back home on lockdown during the covid-19 pandemic.
Gasana Elyvine(she/her/hers) is a junior majoring in Nutritional sciences with a minor in women and gender studies. She is planning to go to grad school for medical anthropology. She is an international student from Rwanda, so she is in isolation with her friends on campus!
Zoe Kernohan (she/her/hers) is second year student at MSU studying media and information + women and gender studies. She returned home to Royal Oak, MI, as MSU moved classes online in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Devonshire McDonald (she/her/hers) is a senior at Michigan State studying Sociology and Women Studies. Currently in isolation with a household of 11, filling her time with crafts and exploring the empty campus.
Olivia (she/her/hers) is an MSU senior studying Human Biology with a minor in Women's and Gender Studies. She plans to pursue a career as a Physician Assistant in the future. What Olivia misses most about not being quarantined is hanging out with her friends and eating sushi.
Alex Morales (she/her/hers) a fourth year at MSU studying psychology with a minor in Women's and Gender studies. Plan to get a Psyd in clinical psychology. Currently in the basement of her Aunt and Uncle's place for the next few months along with their dog children, Silas and Remy.
Dallas Sumrall (she/her/hers) is a 19 year old student at Michigan State University, majoring in Professional and Public Writing, and a minoring in Women and Gender Studies. Dallas is a modern day womanist and enjoys bringing out the highest energy in people and propelling herself to a peaceful future. Dallas is spending her quarantine in her family home on the west side of Detroit, Mi.
Rhea Dhar (she/her/hers) is a 18 year old freshman at MSU who is double majoring in public health and women and gender studies. She is interested in combating the modern day human trafficking nightmare while also journaling about her social isolation experience as well as the attack on women's rights due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
During this pandemic, Rhea is spending time with family and writing blogs for her website www.backyardtrafficking.com while also trying out new food recipes and binge watching Grey's Anatomy and Criminal Minds.
Brandy (she, her, hers) is a Senior at Michigan State University working towards a BA in Psychology and minor Women and Gender Studies. She will be continuing her education upon graduation to obtain a Master’s degree in Social Work. Being a student however comes second in her life, "I am a proud mother to two daughters ages three and seven. Besides finally finishing school for myself, I am driven to demonstrate to my daughters; it is never too late to finish what you start and to never let limitations hold you back from your dreams!"
Jordan Whitmore (He/Him/His), a 2nd-year college student at Michigan State University majoring in psychology with a minor in LGBTQ and Women’s studies. From Byron Center, Michigan he is seeking to open a therapeutic practice that focuses on providing therapy that focuses on support for female and LGBTQ communities in a field that historically is a heteronormative and male-centred one.
Audrey Bakos (she/her/hers) Audrey is 23 years old and a 5th year senior at Michigan State University. She is majoring in History with a Women’s and Gender Studies minor.
During the Covid-19 outbreak she has decided to do a daily video blog called Audrey Daily. She’ll share what kind of things she does everyday. Audrey is in isolation with her mother, father, brother (Zachary), and cousin (Michael). Audrey’s family also has four dogs, you’ll see them a lot if you watch her vlog.
Right now, Audrey is living with her parents in her hometown of Linden, MI. She works in landscape and the people that she works with are the same people that she lives with. Audrey and her family are following the CDC’s and the WHO’s advice and practicing social distancing and they are constantly washing their hands.
Audrey recently returned from a trip to Disney World (she was there for Spring Break) and was pretty concerned that she could have possibly contracted the virus and brought it home with her. Three days after she returned home, Disney World shut down due to Coronavirus. Luckily, Audrey did not get sick or show any symptoms in the 14 days after she got home. Now, she is self quarantining with her family and taking it day by day. Who knows what tomorrow brings?
Maddy Schlossenberg (she/her/hers) is a sophomore at Michigan State University. She will be majoring in Humanities Pre-Law with a minor in Women & Gender Studies. Maddy is in isolation by herself in East Lansing, she will continue her studies and office work from home. She has spent her time watching Netflix, reading, and doing puzzles while continuing her isolation.
Bianca Bucholtz (she/her/hers) is a sophomore at Michigan State University pursuing a degree in Professional and Public Writing with a minor in Women and Gender Studies. She currently works as an editor for VIM Magazine at MSU and a waitress at her family's restaurant in Stevensville, MI. She is passionate about storytelling and being a voice for those who don’t have one. During this lovely pandemic, she is spending some quality time with her mother painting, baking a million different desserts and watching nearly every show on Netflix.
Megan Slabiak (she/her/hers) is a sophomore at Michigan State University majoring in Criminal Justice with a minor in Women and Gender Studies. She enjoys traveling, long boarding, writing poetry, and being outdoors in her free time. She returned to her home in Hazel Park, Michigan to weather the storm of this pandemic with her family and dogs.
Kaylee (she/hers/her) is a second year undergrad at Michigan State University who is double majoring in Political Science - Pre Law and Women’s and Gender studies with a minor in Law, Justice, and Public Policy. After graduation she plans on attending law school to pursue her dream of becoming a lawyer while also attending to the political atmosphere. She is from Flint, MI and will be quarantined there with her father and her dog while COVID-19 is at large.
Gabrielle White (she/her/hers) is a senior English and Professional Writing major with a minor in Women and Gender Studies. She will be staying in her apartment in East Lansing during this pandemic, binge watching too many TV shows and attempting to finish her to-read list.
Erin Graham (she/her/hers) is the instructor for the course. She is an assistant professor in the Department of History at Michigan State University, where she specializes in gender, migration, and Mexican history. Erin is very proud of her students and is thrilled to create this site in collaboration with them.
