The 2019 SLCTLS was held August 22-23, 2019. A total of 90 people from 47 institutions/organizations attended SLCTLS 2019, which marked the highest attendance yet at any in-person SLCTLS event. The Shared LCTL Symposium began with a keynote by Tamar Ginossar, entitled “Challenges and Opportunities in Promoting Less Commonly Taught Languages: Using Diffusion of Innovations Theory to Inform Contemporary Efforts.”
The following day, after grant updates from University of Chicago and Michigan State University’s respective Andrew W. Mellon Foundation-funded projects, panelists reflected on themes in the keynote:
