While the definition of a concussion can vary from resource to resource, for the purposes of this website, we will use the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine definition. "...a traumatically induced transient disturbance of brain function that involves a complex pathophysiological process" (Harmon et.al 2019).
We will also be highlighting different techniques in the field for concussion testing and asessment such as the accuracy of the BESS assessment (Reneker et.al 2021) and the basic information regarding athletic posturing, including the two types of posturing and what they mean for the athlete.
