The following is a list of journals, conferences, and organizations related to my general topics of interest -- digital mathematics curriculum and tools, and the relationship between computer science and mathematics education in elementary school.
Mathematical Thinking and Learning: A mathematics education journal focused specifically on the development of mathematical reasoning in students, with a strand on how technological advances might influence this.
ZDM - International Journal on Mathematics Education: An invitation-only mathematics education journal dedicated to high-quality studies and commentaries. Issues are thematic, and there were two issues in recent years focused on digital mathematics curriculum.
Journal of the Learning Sciences: A well-known journal that contains many studies related to the design of learning environments. A good number of researchers in this area have a particular interest in mathematics, science, or computer science.
Computer Science Education: A journal that contains studies specifically about the teaching of computer science. It has in the past had a strong focus on undergraduate education, but more and more K-12 studies are appearing.
National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM's) Research Conference: This conference takes place annually, in the days just before NCTM's practitioner conference, and was one of the first conferences focused specifically on mathematics education.
Psychology of Mathematics Education (PME) and Psychology of Mathematics Education - North America (PME-NA) conferences: This pair of conferences was also among the first to focus on mathematics education.
American Educational Research Association (AERA): This annual conference focused on educational research of all forms has a Special Interest Group (SIG) for mathematics education.
ACM Technical Symposium on Computer Science Education (known colloquially as SIGCSE): This special interest group now holds its own yearly conference, and depending on submissions, usually has a strand dedicated to K-8. Publications in these proceedings are considered more prestigious than journal publications in the computer science education field.
International Computing Education Research (ICER) conference: This annual conference is attended by computer science researcher who work at a variety of age levels. Like SIGCSE, publications in these proceedings are considered more prestigious than journal publications in the computer science education field.
Society for Information Technology in Teacher Education (SITE) conference: This conference has a specific focus on the use of technology in teacher education.
Organizations
National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM): Large national organization devoted to the advancement of both mathematics education research and quality mathematics teaching and learning in schools.
American Educational Research Association (AERA): Large national organization devoted to educational research. It has its own national conference (listed above) and some affiliated journals that are general, but strong.
Association of Computing Machinery (ACM): This is a professional organization for computer scientists, but has an arm that is dedicated in particular to computer science education. Two of the major computer science education conferences (SIGCSE and ICER, listed above) are organized by ACM.
Association for the Advancement of Computing in Education (AACE): Society focused on understanding and promoting use of technology in education. They have several journals and conferences, the most relevant of which are listed above (SITE conference, Journal of Computers in Mathematics and Science Teaching).
