I am a proud graduate of the illustrious Dillard University , where I earned my Bachelor of Arts in English. It was during my time at Dillard that I discovered my passion for education, which has since guided my career path.
With two years of experience in the field of education, I began my professional journey as a 7th and 8th-grade reading interventionist. This role allowed me to support students in developing critical literacy skills. Building on this experience, I transitioned into a full-time position as a 6th-grade teacher and English Language Arts (ELA) specialist, where I continue to foster a love for reading and writing among my students.
To deepen my understanding of educational practices, I obtained a graduate certificate in educational psychology. Currently, I am pursuing a Master of Arts in Education at Michigan State University, concentrating on P-12 School and Postsecondary Leadership. This concentration enhances educational and leadership skills for those working in schools or higher and adult education settings.
I’m passionate about reshaping educational systems to center equity, access, and student voice. My current work focuses on leadership development, policy analysis, and curriculum critique. I’m especially interested in building pathways that support historically marginalized students through intentional design and advocacy. Long-term, I aim to contribute to educational policy reform, with the goal of creating structures that affirm and empower all learners.
This portfolio is a space to document, reflect on, and share the work I’ve engaged in throughout my graduate studies in educational leadership. It is designed for anyone interested in understanding my journey, whether you are a faculty member, advisor, future employer, doctoral program representative, fellow educator, researcher, community leader, or simply someone passionate about the future of education. Within these pages, you’ll find insights into my values, commitments, and areas of expertise, as well as opportunities to connect around shared goals related to equity, policy, and transformational leadership. It is also a personal archive; a record of my growth, a place to revisit the questions that matter most, and a reminder of who I am becoming as I work toward systemic change in education.
