This course is a highly experiential, hands-on course that will introduce students to a wide range of fisheries and wildlife -related issues and experiences.
Students in this course will learn field techniques, analytical methodologies, and technical writing skills that they will encounter as wildlife research and management professionals. In class, they will sample wildlife populations and associated habitats, analyze the data collected and generate professional style reports communicating their findings. A substantial portion of the work in this course comes from a semester-long, hands-on small mammal assessment project.
