Lions give birth to their babies in dens. The dens are usually in rocky places or places with trees.

Newborn Lions are called cubs. Mother lions give their cubs milk for the first 6 to 7 months of life.

Lion cubs are born with their eyes closed. They are born with spots of dark fur that go away as they get older.
Lion cubs stay with their mothers for about 2 years.
Adult lions start to have cubs at around two years old.
