JARS “are a set of guidelines designed for journal authors, reviewers, and editors to enhance scientific rigor in peer-reviewed journal articles. Educators and students can use APA Style JARS as teaching and learning tools for conducting high quality research and determining what information to report in scholarly papers.” 

Specific guidelines are available for qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods designs. 

In 2023, the APA issued a set of standards for talking about race, ethnicity, and culture in scholarship. These guidelines are applicable to any academic writing you do. Check out the APA's recommendations here and read more about their development here.
