Dr. Steven V. Ciancitto is the Director of Alternative Education for the Maple Shade School District and founder of Pathways Academy. With more than 20 years in education, he has served as a history teacher, assistant principal, Director of Culture and Climate, curriculum and instructional leader, and administrator in specialized education. His expertise includes alternative education, restorative practices, school culture, individualized learning, and student support systems. Through Pathways Academy, Steven has created an innovative, student-centered program that combines academic rigor, social-emotional support, accountability, and postsecondary preparation. His leadership is grounded in the belief that every student deserves to be known, valued, challenged, and provided with a meaningful pathway toward success.

A dedicated educator, administrator, and coach with more than three decades of experience in secondary and post-secondary education. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a strong commitment to academic excellence, student development, leadership, and the advancement of educational and athletic programs.

Mr. Williams holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering and a Master’s degree in Administration. Entering his 31st year in education, he has taught a broad range of subjects at the secondary level, including Chemistry, Biology, Physical Science, Meteorology, and Astronomy. His post-secondary teaching experience includes Event Management, Facility Management, and Health.

In addition to his classroom experience, Mr. Williams has extensive educational leadership experience. He served for six years as a High School Vice Principal and Athletic Director, in addition to seven years as a Collegiate Athletic Director. In these leadership roles, he was responsible for supporting students and staff while overseeing academic, athletic, operational, and extracurricular programs.

Athletics have been an integral part of Mr. Williams’ professional career. He has served as a Head Girls Soccer Coach for 11 years and has more than 20 years of experience as a Head Baseball Coach, including 12 years at the collegiate level. His coaching career reflects his commitment to mentorship, teamwork, discipline, leadership, and the development of students both on and off the field.

With a career encompassing teaching, administration, athletics, and coaching, Mr. Williams brings a diverse and comprehensive perspective to education. He remains committed to creating meaningful opportunities for students and fostering an environment in which they can achieve their academic, personal, and athletic potential.

Edwin Quezada is an educator with experience in social work, trauma-informed education, and urban schools. Before becoming a teacher, he spent four years supporting adolescents with mood disorders in New York City. He later taught in Charlotte, Camden, and Trenton, working in public, charter, and newly established school settings. He also earned a Master of Education in Trauma-Informed Education.

At Maple Shade High School, Edwin brings a trauma-informed and healing-centered approach to education. He focuses on creating safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environments where students feel valued, build confidence, and develop the skills to become independent thinkers.
