My name is Laura Baker. I am so excited to be teaching your child this year. I will be your child's math and science teacher this year.
I am originally from Palmyra and graduated from Palmyra High School. I then attended Rowan University for my undergraduate degree. There, I majored in Elementary Education with a dual major in Liberal Arts: Math/Science. I am certified to teach K-5 Elementary School, as well as Middle School (6-8) math and science. I received my Master's Degree in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment at Walden University.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time at home with my husband, my daughter (Evelyn), and son (Owen), and our "fur kids". We have a dog (Millie) and 5 Cats (Leroy, Abby, Stella, Ron, and Hermie). I am a novice beekeeper and have 4 hives that my father and I tend to. I also volunteer with Freedom Center for Wildlife, where we rehabilitate New Jersey native wildlife species.
I am proud to say that I have been teaching 5th grade at Steinhauer since September 2012. I could not imagine a more perfect place to call home. As we begin our year in 5th grade, we will be covering new and fascinating topics as well as building on previous knowledge and skills. In science, students will adventure through several science topics including Changes in Matter, Living Things and Ecosystems, The Earth, Moon, and Stars, and Earth Systems.
I invite you to explore my website, where you can find a lot of vital information regarding our school and our classroom. Should you ever have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me. My email address is lbaker@msemail.org, and my extension is 1506.
I look forward to a fabulous year!
