Where does the time go? It's hard to believe that I've been teaching for twenty-three glorious years. This is my thirteenth year at Thomas Jefferson, and during that time I have been in third, fourth and fifth grade.
Teaching isn't my only passion. I have been dancing my entire life and am lucky enough to teach a dance class at my local health club. I'm also devoted to yoga and make sure to find time to fit it into my day, no matter how chaotic a schedule. Something you should also know about me is I am an animal-loving vegetarian.
My amazing husband is also a teacher and we have two fantastic kids. Bella is a freshman at Seton Hall (I still can't wrap my mind around that), and Ben is a sophomore in high school. They are both athletes and play sports year-round...hence the chaotic schedule!
I love to stay active! My family and I are avid campers and skiers. In fact, if you are looking for me on the weekends, you will find my wife, three kids, and I on the ski slopes! I also love fishing, playing and coaching baseball, and gardening with my kids. In addition, I enjoy building decks and remodeling bathrooms. It keeps me very busy during the summer months.
We are a family of teachers as my wife has been teaching art at Hillcrest and Alexander Hamilton for the past 26 years. My daughter Abby just started her senior year in high school, McKayla is a freshman, and my son Trevor just started middle school and is in 6th grade.
Twins! My life is a wonderful combination of love and chaos! My husband Ray and I have twin 4 year old boys, Jack and Nicholas, who are in Pre-K4 this year. Although they are becoming very different, they both have A LOT of personality and energy! We spend our days playing, laughing, and exploring outside.
I love to hike and exercise, am a terrible cook, and find that laughter is the best medicine.
I have taught in CT, NYC, and now am starting my 10th year at TJ! I genuinely love my job and look forward coming to school every day. I find joy in learning with my students and in getting to know all their individual personalities.
