Bill Sheppard

I am a Career & Technical Education teacher at Mascoutah High School, where I currently teach Trades 1 through the MC² (Mascoutah Career Center) program, Beginning Construction, and Carpentry 1.

I believe students learn best by doing. In my classroom, students have opportunities to build, create, problem-solve, and develop practical skills through hands-on, real-world projects. I enjoy connecting students with local businesses and professionals so they can learn more about careers in the skilled trades and the many opportunities available after high school.

My goal is for students to leave my classroom with confidence, useful skills, a strong work ethic, and a better idea of what they want their next step to be—whether that's college, a trade program, an apprenticeship, or going directly into the workforce.

Outside of the classroom, much of my time is still spent working with kids. I enjoy coaching football and supporting our family's involvement in 4-H and FFA. Our family also spends a lot of time on our farm, raising animals and working on the never-ending list of projects that comes with farm life. Whether I'm in the classroom, on the football field, in the shop, or on the farm, I enjoy teaching young people practical skills, working with my hands, and helping kids discover what they're capable of.
