Biography

Welcome to fifth grade at Scott Elementary! I am Samantha Beyer and I am a 5th grade ELA teacher.

I am a life long learner myself and I have a passion for teaching and learning. I grew up in a family full of teachers and I have known I wanted to be a teacher since I was a child. I accomplished this life long goal when I graduated from SIUE in 2020 with a degree in Elementary Education.

As a teacher my philosophy is to teach the whole student, which includes not only academic concepts such as grammar, reading, writing, etc. but also skills such as being a good friend and classmate, collaborating with others, critical thinking, and social skills. 

In our classroom we are a family and we help each other achieve our goals through collaboration. We achieve effective collaboration through building strong relationships between everyone in our class community including myself, students, and parents.

 I am very excited to be working with you all, we are going to have an amazing year!
