I am excited to be your child's second (you are their first) teacher. Below you will find lots of information to help us have an amazing kinder year.
All About me!
-I have taught Head Start, Pre-K Home Based, Second Grade, and Kindergarten.
-Before I became a teacher, I worked on Scott A.F.B. while putting myself through college.
-I grew up just a few minutes away, but now I live in Missouri.
-My dad was military and civilian. He retired as a full-time reservist in the United States Air Force here at Scott.
-I love to garden at home, but I am also in charge of the SES school garden.
-I have two sons. We are lucky to have adopted a boy from Ethiopia and I have 1 step son.
The kinder year is one of the most important years in a child's educational journey. It is where the foundational skills for social, emotional, and academic (cognitive) development begin. You can expect to see big strides in these areas as they work and play, especially if this is their first education experience. Check out our schedule, the grading scale, and kinder readiness skills below.
**Schedules are subject to change based on unforeseen circumstances such as field trips, weather, school activities, etc. Please email for exact daily schedules.
Syllabus and Newsletter
While kindergarten does not have a syllabus, you will receive a welcome packet with lots of information at open house, or in your child's folder on their first day. Your child will also receive a weekly newsletter that will cover all 6 kindergartens and have a section that is from each child's personal teacher. It will have current curriculum, as well as upcoming kinder specific events.
