I am curious about what you will create in our Art Room Studio at SES!
I will see everyone for either 1st or 2nd semester.
Get ready to make some really Awesome Art!
Our Art Program at SES
Hello, parents and students!
I am excited to share again that we will be using Artsonia as an online portfolio where you can connect with your child through artwork that they create in our Art Studio at school!
My philosophy of art teaching is to view each child as a growing artist and to encourage that growth in our studio. I view myself as a coach, guide and resource for them on their individual art journeys.
Our artworks come from your student's own ideas, imaginings, observations and curiosities about our world and their place in it. Our portfolios may, therefore look a bit different from other elementary art class portfolios. During the first quarter of each art class, students are introduced to art materials that are available and to new techniques to try. The second quarter focuses on their depth of learning in an area or two of their choosing. We will upload pictures of some of their favorite creations throughout the semester.
Our essential standards are based around their art exploration, art making, creative thing and reflecting on their own and others' artwork.
I truly love my job as you child's art teacher, and I consider myself highly privileged to be part of their creative journeys.
Sincerely, Lydia Prince
When your child has art (either 1st or 2nd semester) look for a paper invitation to join our Artsonia site!
