Welcome! I’m Mrs. Hendrickson, one of the agricultural education teachers and FFA advisors at MHS. I grew up on my family’s farm in rural South Dakota, where we raised and trained Quarter Horses for barrel racing and roping, raised Longhorn cattle, and produced hay, corn, and soybeans. While in high school, FFA was my “sport,” and it sparked my passion for agriculture and leadership. I always knew teaching and spreading my love of agriculture was where I belonged!
I graduated from North Dakota State University in 2018 with a degree in Agricultural Education and a minor in Equine Science. As an Air Force spouse, we have been stationed in Mississippi, Delaware, and now Illinois—using the opportunity to learn about agriculture in each unique region of the US along the way.
I’m an eager learner myself and bring that same curiosity into the classroom to encourage a positive community where students can feel confident exploring, asking questions, and embracing a growth mindset. Whether living in a rural community or in an urban city, agriculture and its importance is everywhere! There is something for everyone when it comes to studying and learning more about agriculture and leadership.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with and making memories with my husband and our two young sons- spending most of our time outdoors on our small acreage with our horses and dogs.
Fun Facts
I’ve called five states home: South Dakota, North Dakota, Mississippi, Delaware, and Illinois.
Horses have been part of my life for as long as I can remember- I could ride before I could walk.
I love the thrill and excitement of a roller coaster.
I’m a hands-on learner — ready to tackle challenges alongside my students!
If you’re signed up for any ag class in Illinois, guess what? You’re already an FFA member! Illinois is an affiliate state, which means everyone in an agriculture class is automatically part of FFA—no extra forms, no extra fees.
That means you get access to all the awesome things FFA offers:
Compete in fun and challenging contests
Travel to conferences and conventions
Meet new friends from across the state (and country!)
Build leadership skills and explore career options
Apply for scholarships and awards
All you have to do is show up ready to try new things, get involved, and see where FFA can take you.
