Hello and welcome to Mr. Ballard's web page. I'm excited to start this 2025-2026 school year and help meet the needs of every student, every day.
I have always been interested in athletics and exercise. Organized sports have been a part of my life from Kindergarten through college and I now enjoy sports and exercise in my free time. I can't remember a year of my life that I was not involved in sports or teaching PE. I think that staying active and exercising the body and mind together are an important balance to our overall health.
I have a wonderful family at home that I love spending my free time with. My wife Nikki, my 19 year old son Mason and my 17 year old daughter Kendall & my 4 year old son Reece.
We love to go on walks, play board games, swim, travel & exercise together.
I can't wait to start the school year and get active together! Let's make it a great year!

What to expect 2025-2026 School Year
Physical Education
Teacher: Mr. Ballard: This will be my 19th year in the district and 26th year as a Physical Education teacher with experience teaching Kindergarten through high school age students. I believe that exercise can have an overwhelmingly positive effect on young bodies and minds and should be a daily routine for all students.
Rules & Expectations: We follow the “3 R’s” when in the gym and expect for students to show Respect for each other and themselves, be Responsible for their actions and the equipment we use, and to continue to make Right Choices when participating in Physical Education.
Shoes: Students should show up to PE with appropriate tennis shoes and clothing for participation in physical activity. Students may wear any type of tennis shoe that fits snug to their feet. Please check your students schedule and make sure they have tennis shoes available on PE days. Schedule posted below.
Shoe Reminder Slip: This is a small white slip of paper that goes home with the student if they forget to bring tennis shoes to PE. It contains information on your child’s PE days so that you may help them remember their tennis shoes. The slip should be signed by a guardian and returned.
Activities: Students will participate in a wide range of activities throughout the year. They will learn to push themselves physically, compete with one another in a respectful manner, learn the rules and expectations of several team sports, learn what it means to live an active and healthy lifestyle, and have a great time with their peers when participating in physical activity.
Fitnessgram: Students in grades 3-5 will participate in the fitnessgram test. This is a test of 4 areas of fitness. Cardiorespiratory (Mile and Pacer), Flexibility (Sit & Reach), Muscular Strength & Endurance (Curl-ups & Push-ups). We will test in the Spring and again in the Fall, giving us a record and measurement of their physical growth and progress.
