Biography

Hello and welcome to Mr. Ballard's web page. I'm excited to start this 2020-2021 school year and meet these new challenges head on. Whether we are learning remotely from home or in person at SES I expect us to try our best and have fun exercising!

I have always been interested in athletics and exercise. From T-Ball and soccer as a Kindergarten student to playing football at Lindenwood University to becoming a Physical Education Teacher, I can't remember a year of my life that I was not involved in sports or teaching PE. I think that staying active and exercising the body and mind together are an important balance to our overall health.

I have a wonderful family at home that I love spending my free time with. My wife Nikki, my 14 year old son Mason and my 12 year old daughter Kendall. My kids are also starting a year of remote learning and are ready for the challenge.

We love to go on walks, play board games, swim, travel & exercise together.

I can't wait to start the school year and get active together! Let's make it a great year!

Parent Letter and PE Expectations

I will be attaching 3 lessons per week to my Virtual Gym for grades 3-5. You can see your schedule on your homeroom teacher's Google Classroom under "SES PE". You will open the "SES PE" tab in the Google Classroom on Monday, Wednesday & Fridays.

For PE, I will use a Virtual Classroom where students can access their assigned activity as well as explore by clicking images on the screen. I will post activities and lessons on the Virtual Classroom & the grade level pages listed at the top of this web page. "3rd Grade PE, 4th Grade PE, 5th Grade PE"

My expectation will be for students to participate in their scheduled PE days by visiting the Virtual Classroom and looking for the posted activity. I would also like students to try and achieve the recommended 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous movement/activity per day.
