I teach Algebra 1, Advanced Algebra 1 and Advanced Algebra 2 this year at Mascoutah High School. Through our Algebra courses students will experience a rigorous and fluid curriculum that is uniform throughout the department. Students will be expected to master content through active participation in zoom calls, dedicated time spent to instruction videos, and honest, devoted completion of homework and review materials that are made available to them while we navigate through this remote learning period.
Students will be graded based on a combination of homework, quizzes, and tests. All materials for class will be distributed and assessed via Google Classroom.
If you have any questions please feel free to email me at email@example.com.
Who am I?
Hi! My name is Hillary Hoy. I live in the country with my husband and childhood sweetheart Matthew and our two children Mason and Harper. Mason is a 3rd grader this year and my baby girl is in the first grade. I love teaching but being a mom is my greatest passion. We enjoy spending time outdoors piddling around our property with our dog Gwen and spending quality time with our friends and family.
I graduated from McLeansboro High School in rural Southern Illinois where I competed in any sport I could. After high school, I spent two years at Rend Lake College as a Lady Warrior and followed that by earning my degree in Mathematics at Southern Illinois University Carbondale while playing for the Saluki women's basketball team.
This is my 17th year teaching and 12th year at MHS. In addition to teaching, I am also one of the Student Council Advisors. I love being in the classroom, making connections with students, and watching them learn and grow. I can't wait for the day we get to be together again. ROLL TRIBE!
