I teach Algebra 2, Advanced Algebra 2 and Honors Algebra 2 this year at Mascoutah High School. Through our Algebra courses students will experience a rigorous and fluid curriculum that is uniform throughout the department. The MHS math department has adopted a Problem-Based curriculum via Kendall Hunt Illustrative Mathematics. This curriculum will be supplemented by teacher made materials that focus on procedural fluency where we see fit.

Hi! My name is Hillary Hoy. I live in the country with my husband and childhood sweetheart Matthew and our two children Mason and Harper. I love teaching but being a mom is my greatest passion. We enjoy spending time outdoors piddling around our property with our dog Gwen, running from one sporting event to the next, and spending quality time with our friends and family.
I graduated from McLeansboro High School in rural Southern Illinois where I competed in any sport I could. After high school, I spent two years at Rend Lake College as a Lady Warrior and followed that by earning my degree in Mathematics at Southern Illinois University Carbondale while playing for the Saluki women's basketball team.
I started my teaching career in 2003 and have been at MHS since 2009. In addition to teaching, I am also one of the Student Council Advisors. I love being in the classroom, making connections with students, and watching them learn and grow. ROLL TRIBE!
