In Concert Choir, students will develop and refine their skills as both individual vocalists and singers in a choral environment. Students will perform a varied repertoire of choral music at regular concerts, district and state festivals, and in the community. This class additionally focuses on topics including (but not limited to) music theory, sight-reading, music history, aural skills/musicianship training, vocal technique, and performance knowledge. Treble Choir is an advanced treble-voice ensemble. In Treble Choir, students will develop and refine their skills as both individual vocalists and singers in a choral environment for high voices. Students will perform a varied repertoire of SSA(A)+ choral music at regular concerts and in the community. This class additionally focuses on topics including (but not limited to) music theory, sight-reading, music history, aural skills/musicianship training, vocal technique, and performance knowledge. Show Choir is a mixed, auditioned vocal ensemble designed for students displaying outstanding vocal technique and sight-singing skills. Students will build advanced vocal technique while learning and performing both choral and contemporary music spanning a variety of periods and genres. Show Choir students will participate in regular concerts, district and state festivals, and in the community. This class additionally focuses on topics including (but not limited to) music theory, sight-reading, music history, aural skills/musicianship training, and choreography. (05111A000)

Biography

Mr. Rice is thrilled to have found a home at Mascoutah High School!

Mr. Rice holds a Bachelor’s of Music Education from Webster University, where he was a Presidential Scholar.

Mr. Rice is an avid performer, currently holding the position of Young Artist with the Bach Society of St. Louis, and having performed at Union Avenue Opera, New Line Theatre, the MUNY, and with Josh Groban.
