Erin Aten

Biography

Hi! My name is Erin Aten. I am a 2002 graduate of Mt. Vernon Township High School. I earned my B.A. degree in English and Secondary Education from Murray State University in 2006. In 2009 I completed my middle school teaching endorsement from McKendree. I continued at McKendree and finished my Reading Specialist certificate in 2010 and my Master's degree in 2012.

I have been teaching since 2006 and here at MHS since 2010. Over the years I have taught a variety of English courses. Currently I teach Advanced English 2 and Creative Writing.

Prior to working in Mascoutah I taught high school English at Lyon County High School in Eddyille, KY.

I live in Mascoutah with my husband Paul, our six children, and our two dogs. We stay busy running the kids to various sports, band, etc.
