Myself in first-grade!
In 2019, I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelors in Science in Education and an English as a Second Language Certificate from Millikin University in Decatur, IL., where I spent my first two years as an educator. I have been teaching first-grade at Mascoutah Elementary School since the 2021-2022 school-year. I am currently working on my Reading Endorsement from SUIE.
I live in Mascoutah with my husband, Shey, and our sons, Emerson and August (Auggie). We also have one senior dog, Buddy, a senior cat, Aphrodite, and an adult bearded dragon, Tina.
This is my husband's hometown and I am continually happy I agreed to settle here. The sense of community and pride in Mascoutah is unmatched. I feel very fortunate to teach in the same school my own children will all attend and work hard to treat every student how I hope my own children are treated.
In my free time I enjoy reading, yoga, hiking, family bike riding, and antiquing. In general, if it's an outdoor activity, a challenge for my mind, or involves coffee, I am in!
