I’m the new Thunderbolt social studies teacher at Mascoutah Middle School! I am a passionate educator with 28 years of experience teaching U.S. History and English Language Arts in Missouri. In the spring of 2025, I made the move to Edwardsville, IL. It feels like I’m coming full circle since my family was stationed at Scott Air Force Base from 1971 to 1973. My father retired as a Chief Master Sergeant (CMSgt) in 1985, and that military connection has always been meaningful to me.
I love bringing stories to life—whether it’s diving into historical events or exploring timeless works of literature. I strive to create a classroom environment where students feel safe, inspired, confident, and curious.
When I’m not teaching, I’m with my three furry companions—Annie, Obi, and Ashoka—who always keep things lively. My kids are all grown up now so when away from school, you’ll find me curled up with a good book by the pool or exploring local trails—anything that blends fresh air with a little inspiration. I look forward to getting to know the Mascoutah community!
