Raising a Reader is a take-home book bag program for families of children birth to five years old (not yet in kindergarten). Each Tuesday during the school year your family will go to the school you signed up for between the hours of 3:30 and 5:30 to receive a beautiful book bag filled with children's books for you to read and explore together. The following week you will return the books and bag to receive another set of new books to enjoy.
The goal of Raising A Reader is to promote early learning experiences which help to prepare children for later success in school. Reading to children helps them become better listeners, learn new words, and build their understanding of ideas, concepts, and experiences in the world they live. By participating in Raising A Reader, you are providing your child new opportunities to grow their brain!
If you would like to participate, but have barriers preventing you from doing so, please connect with the Early Learning Program Coordinator (contact information below) to discuss possible solutions.
