Gearing Up for Kindergarten helps children and families feel confident and ready for the transition to kindergarten. Both your pre-kindergartener and a parent or guardian will participate in this hands-on experience designed to help your child feel comfortable and excited about starting school.
Participants will:
Experience kindergarten learning activities in a real classroom setting.
Become familiar with school routines and what a typical kindergarten day looks like.
Learn ways to support a successful transition to kindergarten, including an understanding of Mandan Public Schools’ kindergarten entry expectations.
This program gives children an opportunity to build confidence and helps families gain practical tools and information to support a successful start to kindergarten.
Gearing Up for Kindergarten is for Mandan families with 4 to 5 year olds entering kindergarten in the fall of 2027.
Sessions are held once a month from October - May (7 sessions)
Both your pre-kindergartener and a parent/guardian will participate. It is ideal for you to attend each session.
