Eliminate Distractions:
Since you will be accessing these learning opportunities from home, it's important to eliminate as many distractions as possible. This will look different in each home and for each learner. For some it might mean no cell phones in the work space and for others no TV. Whatever this looks like in your home, a work space free of distractions will help the learning process.
Organization:
Remote learning is a great time to help your student learn organizational skills that work for them or to continue with what is already working. Staying organized during this process will help learners stay on top of the learning activities.
Learning Etiquette:
Even though this learning is happening outside of the school's walls, it's important to remember to follow the same expectations we would follow in our classrooms.
If your a teacher is hosting a virtual meeting, be sure to follow the same language and dress code rules we would expect in school. Be aware of what is in view of the camera you are using for the virtual meeting.
Maintaining a daily schedule and set of routines similar to the regular school day may help keep your student knowing what to work on and when.
Work in a dedicated space free distractions such as TV and social media.
Work together to create a daily schedule and stick to it.
This schedule is just an example. Please work with your student/s to develop the best schedule for your situation.

Will teachers be holding a virtual class?
Some teachers may--from time to time--choose to hold virtual meetings with students or groups of students. These meetings are not mandatory.
Can I communicate with my student's teachers?
Yes, we are here for you. Please feel free to contact teachers when needed.
Are all of these activities required?
All students are encouraged take advantage of the learning opportunities their teachers are providing. While we know these activities cannot replace classroom learning, they will keep concepts and learning fresh in your student's mind.
What if we miss a day?
We care about you and want to be sure that you are safe, so many teachers are posting daily check ins. However, at this time attendance is not being recorded and there are no due dates for the assignments, so if you miss one, make it up when you can. Again, these practices are subject to change.
What about earning credits and staying on track for graduation?
We are working to with state and federal government to work through these details. As we learn the answers to these questions we will share the information with our families.
We recognize Seniors are especially concerned but please be assured there will be adjustments for senior graduation requirements and seniors will still be able to graduate this year.
