The Buccaneer Educational Foundation (BEF), a 501(c)3 nonprofit, is a partnership of educators, parents, business, and civic leaders that will engage the entire community through giving, inspire academic rigor, fund new learning opportunities, and help prepare the children of Milford School District to become well-rounded, productive citizens.
Stay tuned - much more to come!
The Buccaneer Educational Foundation was proud to support experiential learning in Milford School District by awarding Class 7C a $500 grant to help offset transportation costs for their field trip to the Franklin Institute’s Brain Science Exhibit on January 15.
This experience enhanced students’ introduction to neuroscience in their ELA unit and provided meaningful, hands-on learning. As a Title I school, admission was free; however, transportation costs would have made the trip difficult for many families. 100 students total from Mr. McNulty, Mrs. Galati, Ms. Miller, Ms. Laise, Ms. Guy, and Mr. Zerrad's team will attend.
Mr. Huffman and Banneker 1st Grade students were presented with a check to offset the cost of an educational field trip to the Delaware Aerospace Education Foundation (DASEF). This opportunity allowed students to engage in hands-on learning experiences that align directly with our science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) curriculum. 172 students in total from Banneker attended the field trip.
MHS Senior, Giovanni Burgos, was granted partial funding for the music department trip to Chicago.
Gio is the Senior drum major in the marching band, our top leader in choir, and has been a lead in the musicals for a long as possible. He also has plans to attend Rowan University to pursue music education.
Congratulations to MHS Class of 2025 Valedictorian, Megan Johnson! Megan recently competed at the Business Professionals of America (BPA) National Leadership Conference in Orlando, FL held from May 7-11, 2025.
Megan is the first student to receive support from the Buccaneer Educational Foundation. BEF sponsored the cost of the trip and presented Ms. Johnson with a check by BEF founder and president Matt Bucher, alongside Mrs. Dodds, BPA Advisor, and MHS Principal Mr. Buford.
