First Trimester

All students have been given an intro to the STEAM classroom. Curriculum is based on the engineering  design process. In the classroom, students actively participate in scaffolding their learning. This approach helps them apply different  strategies and develop their skills and knowledge through engaging, hands-on activities.

Kindergarten has begun to explore various materials and challenges both individually and in small groups.

Grades one and three have begun grade level First Lego League challenges with the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard STEM Outreach Program. Each month, students will work with engineers, designers, and architects to learn real-world skills and team work.

Grade two has begun a year long exploration into the science of plants and their needs. Be on the lookout for some spring beauty.
