Links to Steve Wyborney's Routines
Steve has a great video where he talks about how Splat works and explains each of the levels. It is awesome! He has eight different levels of complexity all are download for free!
This website has downloadable mysteries. He has two that are for younger K-2 age. Most are 3-5th grade level because he talks about multiples, prime numbers, etc.
This routine helps students see the many ways that a number can be decomposed. They use the visual to create multiple equations. It can be used to move students from addition equations toward multiplication.
This routine involves fractions and area. It encourages students to find multiple ways of thinking and solving challenges using color coding.
Berkeley Everett -Number Sense
This routine uses guided visual images to help students improve their ability to make legitimate estimates rather than random guesses. "Building number sense one day at a time."
