Liberty’s Homecoming is coming early this year with a week full of events for students and staff alike. This year’s spirit and dance theme is based off of Gotham City and features aspects of everyone’s favorite superheroes.
Monday Sept. 9 - Homecoming week kicks off with a PJ day (even superheroes need a day off), where students are encouraged to dress up in their most comfortable outfits. Then, after school there is a Boys soccer game at 4:30 pm in the stadium against DCC. Those who stay after can then watch the Powderpuff football game where Liberty’s Junior girls will take on the Seniors. Stuco will provide Kona Ice and food trucks so be sure to bring money. After the Powderpuff game, Liberty’s annual bonfire will take place.
Tuesday Sept. 10 - Tuesday’s spirit theme is Superheroes vs. Villains. Students are not allowed to wear masks or face paint. Liberty Volleyball will then play after school at 6pm in the main gym. After the game is the homecoming movie night, occurring at 7pm. The Lego Batman
Wednesday Sept. 11 - Wednesday’s spirit day will be Crazy Sock and Hair day. Then after school, Liberty will have a line dancing night with the Liberty Dance crew at 6pm.
Thursday Sept. 12 - Thursday’s spirit theme is Black vs. Gold to represent the colors of Batman. Upperclassmen will dress in all black while underclassmen will dress in all gold colors. Student council will then be holding a Social after school from 5:30-6pm. Volleyball then plays Doherty at 6pm in the gym. Finally, Boys soccer wil play in the stadium starting at 7pm.
Friday, Sept. 13th - Friday’s spirit theme is Lanncer Out. Studentend. Ats are encouraged to wear Navy and Scarlet colors to represent the school. School will be run on an Assembaly schedule due to the Homecoming Pep Assembly at 9:05 for All of the student body to atFter school, Homecoming tailgate will be at 3:30-6pm in the student parking lot. Tailgate will feature booths from clubs, activities and sports featuring games, food, facepainting, Liberty swag and more. Booths will accept cash only, however tickets may be purchased with a credit card. Then, the Liberty Lancer football team will take on Denver East at 7pm in the stadium. Halftime entertainment will feature a cheer performance, a band performane, and the announcement of the Homecoming King and Queen. The night will be concluded with a fireworks show after the game.
Saturday, Sept. 14th - Saturday will feature Liberty’s Homecoming dance themed Gotham CIty. The dance takes place from 7-10pm and will feature dancing, casino tables, photo booths, games and more. Tickets can be purchased online for a price of $30 a person or $35 at the door. If you plan on bringing an outside guest, you must complete a guest pass by Wednesday, September 11. Guest passes are available from Ms. Angie in the activities office.
