Liberty High School’s 2024-2025 school year has unfolded. Since the first day of school on Aug. 14 the students and teachers have settled into their routines and have high hopes for the rest of the school year.
Included in these students is the class of 2028, Liberty’s current Freshman class. Going into high school can be a rush of excitement and opportunity, but it also comes with the nerves of change and escalated expectations.
Demonstrating these emotions, Freshman Gemma Ellis shares that she was, “very scared, [she] was timid to enter a new school with new people.” Another freshman, Livie McGrew, explains similarly to Ellis that she expressed excitement “to meet new people and learn new things.”
After the class of 2028 settled into Liberty they came to realize from their first impression that “Liberty [is] a wonderful school,” and “It’s so much better than middle school,” according to both Ellis and McGrew.
Going into high school also comes with new and exciting experiences like meeting new people, and events like dances, and sports games. And so far, according to the freshmen, the events that have kicked off the school year have lived up to these expectations.
So far, Ellis and McGrew have both explained that they have felt welcomed at school by teachers and students. Ellis adds that “everyone here has helped me feel comfortable and welcomed.”
With these successful first couple of school weeks, there are high expectations for a great Liberty school year.
