Educational Features
Environmental Education
Through the introduction to eco-friendly toys and crafts, we were not only able to sharpen the focus of our environmental education but also help our students to develop the concepts and attitudes of “being aggressive in learning” and “taking the initiative to participate.” Through their “eco-friendly motivation to act,” our students will be inspired to create a “warm and harmonious” relationship between mankind and our environment. Not only that, our environmental education will also help students to develop their basic competence such as knowledge, desire to explore, creativity and willingness to take action so that they can apply what they learn from textbooks while benefitting from relevant experiences, thereby setting a solid foundation for their future learning.
Newspaper in Education
I. Through studying and conversation, the activity ensures that all teachers pay greater attention to students as they read the newspapers and accompany them to develop the proper values.
II. With teachers’ assistance, students will be able to cultivate the capacity to sort, analyze, present and share their take-away from the news articles they read.
III. By integrating contents of different sections of the newspaper with relevant academic subjects, students would have a higher awareness of the world and relevant trends in motion.
IV. The activity helps to improve students’ reading ability and imagination and serves as an ideal way to train students to become quality citizens of the society by being capable of “independent thought, taking care of themselves with the capacity for creation.”
V. Newspaper offers a diversity of information and interesting tidbits that make it easy for students to cultivate an interest in and acquire the habit of reading, which will help to broaden their vision for learning while developing their qualities as upright citizens who care about the society.
