What is Supplemental Support?

Supplemental support in a classroom refers to additional educational assistance provided to students who need help beyond what the general education teacher can offer. This support is designed to address the specific needs of students, particularly those with learning difficulties or other challenges that impact their ability to succeed in a traditional classroom setting.

Overall, supplemental support aims to bridge the gap between the general curriculum and the unique needs of each student, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

As a supplemental support teacher, my role is to collaborate with the general education teacher to provide additional support to all students, but especially to those with learning difficulties. My goal is to work with the classroom teacher to create an inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive.

To me, providing these services means working closely with both students and teachers to meet each child's unique needs, tracking their progress, and communicating regularly with parents. I am committed to helping every student achieve their full potential and ensuring they have the tools and support they need to succeed in their educational journey.
