Your new ELMO Document Camera comes with a software download called Elmo Interactive Technology that needs to be installed before use. This is one of the ways you will display your document camera to your in-person and online students.
Click the link above to download the software. Then double click the download folder to unzip folder and double click again to open the folder. You will run the Setup.msi and go through the set up, clicking NEXT or Allow when prompted.
(Please note :: this software CAN be downloaded and installed onto computers with white document cameras too!)
First, connect the power source for the document camera. Second, connect your HDMI Out on the back of the doc cam to the projector (the long cable) and the HDMI In on the back of the doc cam to your laptop. Then, with your USB cable disconnected, turn on your Promethean board and document camera and select the doc cam button on the doc cam. Select Menu on the Document Camera and use the arrow buttons on the doc cam or remote to select Settings in the bottom right corner of your screen (it might be hiding behind the Promethean board sticker). Use the arrows on the doc cam or remote to scroll to find USB camera and toggle to enable your USB Camera. Then plug the USB cable and select the computer button on the doc cam. For sound, it is BESTTO ALWAYS RUN IN COMPUTER MODE. Computer mode passes video and audio through the HDMI or audio cable to the projector. Sound will not go through the document camera, so your Google Meet students will not be able to hear you.
To show your online students what's on your ELMO document camera, this is what I recommend:
1. Turn on computer
2. turn on doc cam...select computer button on doc cam
3. Turn on projector/Promethean board
4. Open Google Meet and in bottom right hand corner select 3 dots...settings...video switch video input to integrated webcam (it defaults to the doc cam)
4. Open ELMO software and select primary monitor. Wait a few seconds...your software should recognize that you have the document camera plugged in.
5. Make sure you're in document camera mode in the ELMO software. You might have to go to the dial and select Operation Mode (#1) on the inner dial to the right and Document Camera (#2) on the outer dial to the right.
6. Return to Google Meet and present Your entire screen that has the ELMO software on it.
7. When you are finished with the doc cam, you can just close the software by clicking the red x in the program.
Below you will find directions on how to use your Elmo Interactive Technology (EIT) to the fullest measure.
Google Meet Tips
