WHAT IS DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY?
Digital Photography offers students an immersive experience in the world of visual media, through hands-on, Career Technicaql Education (CTE) course. Students will explore both the technical and artistic sides of digital photography, gaining the skills needed for careers in business, media, and communications . The course is designed to help students master digital camera operations, composition, image editing, and portfolio development while meeting industry objectives. By the end of the course, students will have developed a portfolio and learned the technical and creative skills necessary to pursue careers in digital photography, photojournalism, advertising, graphic design, and more.
Aligned with California CTE Media and Arts standards, this course integrates technical knowledge with hands-on learning to ensure students are prepared for both postsecondary education and entry-level careers. Students will gain proficiency with industry-standard tools and software such as Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom and will have opportunities for real-world applications.
This course teaches the basics of photography. Students will know to how to operate a camera in Manual. They will learn introductory techniques of composition, lighting, color and editing. Students will learn editing with the Adobe Suite. Photoshop, Bridge, and Lightroom are some of the industry programs used in our class.
This advanced photography class covers advanced techniques for real-world application. Students will offer photography services to organizations on campus. They will offer services such as studio portraits, media day photography, product photography, and action photography.
