Google Meet is a video conferencing platform developed by Google. It allows you to connect with others through video calls, whether it's for personal or professional purposes.

Accessibility features: Includes options for people with disabilities, such as captions and audio descriptions.
Beginning in 2024, MRH will utilize Google Meet as its primary video conferencing platform. To enhance its capabilities, the district upgraded its domain from Google Workspace for Education Fundamentals to Education Plus. Google Meet for Education Plus is a premium version of Google Meet specifically designed for educational institutions. It offers advanced features that improve teaching and learning experiences compared to the standard version.
Increased participant limit: Accommodate larger classes and school-wide events with higher participant limits compared to standard Google Meet.
Advanced meeting controls: Gain more control over your meetings, such as managing participants, muting options, and screen sharing permissions.
Live streaming: Broadcast your classes or events to a wider audience within your school or district.
Attendance tracking: Easily monitor student attendance during virtual or hybrid classes.
Q&A and polls: Engage students with interactive features like Q&A sessions and polls.
Breakout rooms: Create smaller virtual groups for collaborative activities or discussions.
Integration with other Google Workspace tools: Seamlessly connect with Classroom, Docs, Sheets, and Slides for a comprehensive learning environment.
By leveraging these advanced features, educators can create more engaging and interactive online classrooms, improving student engagement and learning outcomes.

Logging in: go to https://drive.google.com. Log in with your full FFSD email address (for students, this address ends in @students.fergflor.org) and your network password.
Storage Space
Google Workspace for Education (school) accounts are unlimited
Personal accounts are limited to 15G (before fee)
Click New Meeting.
Select an option:
Create a meeting for later:
To share the meeting details for a future meeting, copy the meeting link and share with participants.
To directly start the meeting with this link, paste the link into a browser; or enter the link into the “Enter a code or link” field click Join.
Start an instant meeting: Create a new meeting and join the meeting directly.
Schedule in Google Calendar: To schedule a meeting, you’re directed to Google Calendar.
Open Gmail.
In the Meet section, click New meeting.
To send the meeting invite via link or email, click Send invite.
To copy the meeting invite details, click Copy meeting invite.
To send an email invite, click Share via email.
When you’re ready to join the meeting, click Join now.
Before you join your first meeting, make sure to allow permissions for your Microphone and Camera. Once you grant permission:
To turn your microphone on or off, click Microphone.
To turn your camera on or off, click Camera.
To join the call, click Join now.
To end the call, click Leave call.
Turning this on will automatically convert an uploaded Word/Excel/PowerPoint file to a Google Doc/Sheet/Slide format.
Click the gear at the top right of the Google Drive homepage, then click Settings.
Check the box next to "Convert uploaded files to Google Docs editor format" then click Done.
You only have to do this one time, ever. You can undo this process by going back to the settings and unchecking the box.
Upload a single file from your Drive by clicking New > File upload
Sharing files and/or folders allows you to collaborate with others on a document in real-time. You can also set the sharing settings to just enable others to view/comment but not edit.
If you're in an open Google Doc, click the Share button on the top right.
If you're in your Google Drive, right-click the doc/folder that you'd like to share. Then choose Share.
