Tēnā koutou katoa. Nau mai, haere mai ki te paetukutuku Ākona Te Reo.

This website was set up to tautoko (support) te reo Māori for whānau learning te reo.

Its whāinga (goal) is to help create (rūmaki) immersion times in people's lives where they only speak te reo Māori. Creating te reo only times will help foster the integration of te reo Māori into your everyday life.

Tūtawa mai can be used for beginning and ending activities, game sessions, hui etc. Written by Scotty Morrison to be used by all whānau members young and old.

A waiata is sung to follow the karakia. Whakataka te Hau originates for the Taranaki rohe (region) and can also be used as an opening karakia as well.

Pao Tīmatatanga / Beginning Ditty

A beginning pao (ditty) is used to remind us to stick to te reo Māori whenever possible - especially during games.
