Ms. Chabot
Welcome to the Clarence Amadon Memorial Library.
The library is open on school days from 7:30-3:00.
At other times during the school day, students may ask their teacher for permission to come to the library or their teacher may schedule a time for your class to come to the library.
Occasionally during the day the library may be closed. If this is the case, there will be a sign on the door and students will need to come back at another time.
Students are generally allowed to check out as many books as needed and is reasonable - this may mean not checking out all of the books in a particular series or by a certain author at one time.
Books circulate for three weeks. If no one is waiting for the book, you may renew it. Everyone is encouraged to return books as soon as they are done with them in order to circulate popular books to as many people as possible.
Students must return long overdue books before checking out new books. Long over due books are books that are more than two weeks overdue. We understand that everyone forgets things once in awhile. However, the books in the library are a resource for everyone and we need to be considerate of the needs of all members of our community.
Overdue notices are sent via email on a weekly basis on Mondays. Bills will be sent home for books not returned at the end of the school year.
Books can be returned at any time in the book bin located outside of the library or handed to Ms. Chabot in the library. Please do not leave books on the checkout desk.
Students and Staff can log in to their library account using their school google account. Students and staff can see the items they have out and when they are due. Readers are also encouraged to use the catalog to rate the books they have read and to add their reviews.
Patrons can use the catalog to place a hold on a book that is currently checked out. When a book that has been on hold is available, the student will be notified via email and through the end of the day announcements. Students need to pick up the book from the library within three days of notice. Please contact Ms. Chabot if you need assistance. If a book is available, students will need to come to the library to locate it on the shelves and check it out. Ms. Chabot is always happy to help locate a book!
We select books for the library based on the needs of its patrons: our students and staff. The items found in our library are reviewed for readers in grades 5-8. We are always open to suggestions from our patrons. Please let us know if you have a great suggestion for the library. Additionally, if there is a book you are looking for, please let us know. We can borrow items from the elementary and high school, as well as libraries across Vermont.
