Personal Learning Plans

Vermont schools are undergoing a new shift in student education. Act 77 is a new Vermont law that requires students to have a Personal Learning Plan (PLP) that will follow them through to graduation. The purpose of this plan here at MPS is fourfold:

  • To increase engagement through student-centered, personalized educational experiences that demonstrates continuous growth and learning.
  • To engage kids in a metacognitive cycle of self-reflection, identity exploration and goal setting for the purposes of real-world readiness.
  • To empower school adults to develop a strong relationship with students and their self-identified goals, values, aptitudes, abilities, and dispositions in order to effectively support students.
  • To include families, teachers, engaged adults and students in the educational journey.
