Advisor
Mrs. O'Brien
Mrs. O'Brien has served as the advisor of the school newspaper for the past 20 years. She is an English Teacher and golf coach. She earned her Masters of Arts in Teaching from Rhode Island College in 1998 after having achieved her Bachelor of Arts in English Writing from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia in 1994. She also is a MHS alumni from the Class of 1990. Before pursuing her masters and becoming an English teacher, she worked as a sports journalist.

Lila Christy '26
Lila Christy, senior, has served as the Editor-in-Chief of The Wave since her sophomore year, after first joining as a staff writer her freshman year. She has written and edited dozens of articles per year and co-created Wave Weekly, the newspaper’s first broadcast show. Additionally, she manages The Wave’s instagram account, @mhs_wave, providing live event coverage and connecting the broader Middletown community to MHS news. Outside of the classroom, Lila enjoys playing tennis and reading. She plans to study journalism in college.

Host, Wave Weekly
Aliza Brennan '26
Aliza Brennan, senior, joined The Wave this year and serves as the photographer and host of Wave Weekly. She is involved in student council and government. Outside of school, she runs cross country, indoor and outdoor track. She enjoys spending time hiking, pogo-sticking, and being in the mountains.

Emma Cassisi '26
Emma Cassisi is a senior here at MHS and this is her third year as a staff writer for The Wave. She enjoys writing articles about government/military, as well as science and current school events. Beyond the newspaper, Emma is a part of the MHS swim team and Student Government.

Duduzile Clarkson '27
Duduzile Clarkson, Junior, joined The Wave this year as a staff writer. She is involved in the community service club, MHS book club and many other clubs within the MHS community. When she is not sketching fashion illustrations, she is at the beach with friends, snowboarding in New Hampshire during the winter season and being outdoors.

Grace is a junior with a focus on current events. Her interests include politics, environment, and topics within the school, such as club activities and major developments. Grace is excited to build her writing skills and to spread awareness regarding her interests throughout this upcoming school year.

Caryn Terpening'28
Caryn Terpening is sophomore at Middletown High School. She is a multi-sport athlete; participating in Girls Varsity Tennis at school and competitive dance in her leisure time. Additionally, Caryn holds the position of Public Communications officer for her class.

Kylie Piszcz' 26
Kylie Piszcz, senior, started on The Wave her senior year as a staff writer. She got this position through taking a journalism course with Mrs. O’Brien. In the building, she participates in art club, cultural food club, and strength and conditioning. Outside of school, Kylie enjoys painting, hanging out with friends, writing, relaxing, and working as a barista.

Delaney King '26
Delaney King, a senior, recently became part of The Wave as a staff writer. Writing for the community is a new adjustment Delaney will be making, since it is still new to her. Along with becoming a member of The Wave, Delaney is a part of Art Club and Varsity Softball. Aside from school Delaney especially enjoys spending time with family, friends and her puppy. Writing is a specialty of hers and she is excited to start writing for The Wave.

Henry Poorman is a junior and this is her first year in The Wave. She moved here from Hawai’i and in her old school she helped take pictures for the yearbook and instagram page. She is looking forward to writing interesting stories about the school and its students and teachers.

Nyla Hollins is a sophomore here at Middletown High School. She joined The Wave last fall along with the Girls Varsity Tennis Team. She enjoys getting involved within her community as Freshman Vice President, and encouraging her class to show their school spirit!

Cam Carlisle is a sophomore here at Middletown High School. He joined The Wave this fall and plays Varsity Baseball and Basketball. He also enjoys hanging out with friends and family and working out.

Evangeline Gross' 26
Evangeline Gross, freshman, (also known as Eva) is starting her career in The Wave as a staff writer. Eva strives for justice and awareness within society so journalism is vital to achieve that. She feels the need to be involved, so she contributes to student government as well. Aside from The Wave and student council she enjoys playing guitar, e-biking, sports, and quality time with those around her.

James Corr '27
James Corr is a junior in his second year at The Wave. In addition to writing articles, he manages the website and shoots/edits Wave Weekly. Beyond the Wave, he plays the bagpipes, throws discus and shot for the MHS Track and Field team, does tech and set-building for the Drama Club, works out at the Y, and skis the mountains of New Hampshire.

This is Shenyce's first year in the wave club. She is really excited for the new experiences. She is a junior and she is in 4 other clubs in order to become very active in the school.

Sophomore Class President, joined The Wave last year. She cheers for MHS, and outside of school, she does competitive dance. Emma loves to learn and continues to expand her knowledge through writing articles!

Sydney Bogosian' 26
Senior Sydney Bogosian is a staff writer for the Wave. In addition to the Wave, she is a class representative for student government and council, a part of the founding Active Minds club at MHS, and a new member of the yearbook club. Sydney plays for many teams at MHS including, varsity soccer (senior captain), swim team, varsity basketball, and varsity lacrosse(senior captain). In the summer Sydney is a part of the Second Beach Surf and Rescue team working as a lifeguard at second beach.
