Definitions and Purpose of ELPAC
Hope described what the ELPAC entails, its purpose, and how it functions.
Emphasizes that the group is run BY the parents, and that they will create a network of parents that will report to the school committee.
Explains that DESE has a lot of information, and we will provide a QR code to help families access the information
In order for us to be an official group, we are required to have officers.
The Chairperson will work with Courtney and Hope to plan meetings.

PowerSchool Training
PowerSchool was down due to maintenance, so there was a delay in getting the training started.
Sean Moroney hands out instructions for attendees to take home to download the PowerSchool App.
Suzy Brooks shows attendees how to contact her with questions regarding PowerSchool using the Mashpee Public Schools website.
Go to the Mashpee Public Schools website
Find the American flag at the bottom right corner, and choose your language of choice. For Brazilian Portuguese, there is only Portugal Portuguese.
District → Technology → Parent PowerSchool Access
The document instructs families how to use PowerSchool.
The district can link all children under one parent account.

ClassTag Training
Discussed the purpose of using ClassTag.
All three schools will use this program, and no longer use apps such as Remind and SeeSaw.
Teachers will be required to only communicate with families via email, phone, or through ClassTag.

Mary Kate O’Brien shared information about after school activities at KCC
Two times per year (September and January), parents receive an email with a link to the Google Form sign-up
The link can also be found on the principal's blog and the Mashpee Schools website
Students in kindergarten, first grade, and second grade can participate
Courtney Schneeweiss shared information for QS
Very similar system as KCC
Early registration is highly encouraged
Many groups are now offering two 8 week sessions instead of one 16 session to accommodate for students
Parents should check their confirmation paper for the dates of the session
Hope Hanscom shared information about MMHS
Sports/Athletics and Clubs are offered and operate differently
Sports follows Massachusetts athletics rules and students can only sign-up at the start of each season
Clubs are run by MMHS staff and students can join established clubs throughout the year or suggest new clubs with the support of a staff advisor
Students are given information about sports and clubs through their email and not as much information is sent home to parents
Hope Hanscom shared information about Camp Falcon, a free summer program offered by Mashpee Schools for students in kindergarten through grade 8
Courtney Schneeweiss shared information about a new opportunity for parents to enroll their children in Boys and Girls Club (B & G) for the end of the 2023-2024 school year
10 students from KCC and/or QS can attend B & G for the remainder of the year at NO COST to families and transportation home to 100 Great Neck Rd will be provided
Spots are filled on a first come, first serve basis
