Golden Sower Club

The Golden Sower Club is full of fun, laughter, reading, and a little friendly competition. In the Golden Sower Club, we discuss all 11 Golden Sower Nominee books for the current school year. We do this in preparation for a competition with other Millard schools, The Golden Sower Quiz Bowl. Students are placed in teams of 4-5 Upchurch students to use their collective knowledge of the plots of the books to compete against teams from other schools.
The Golden Sower Club is a time commitment on your child’s part. Here is some information about the club for you and your child to talk through to decide if this club is something your child is interested in.
Participants commit to read at least 9 of the 10 Golden Sower Nominee chapter books and take the quizzes on a Google Classroom before the Golden Sower Quiz Bowl. Books can be checked out from Upchurch’s library.
Participants agree to attend the Golden Sower Quiz Bowl after school in April.
Participants agree to attend all Golden Sower Club meetings. The club will meet Wednesday mornings in the library at 7:30 a.m. beginning in January.
