Meet the Teacher

My name is Mrs. Thompson, and I am the proud 3rd grade teacher to 25 wonderful students! Being able to make positive relationships with students, parents, and the community is the greatest reward in being a teacher.

I grew up in central Nebraska and graduated from Minden High School in 2006. I come from a long line of family teachers so I knew from an early age that I wanted to be a teacher. In 2010, I graduated from the University of Nebraska at Kearney with a double major in Elementary Education K-6 and Special Education K-6. In 2012, I earned my Masters of Arts in Education in Curriculum and Instruction from UNK. I taught 4th grade at Holdrege Public Schools for three years before starting my career with Millard Public Schools. This is my 7th year of teaching at Aldrich. I am thrilled to be surrounded by the tradition and success of such a wonderful school system!

I married my husband, Jake, in August of 2015. My husband works for his family business, Thompson Masonry. We had our first daughter, Klara, in July of 2016. We had our second child, Joel, in December of 2018. We had our 3rd child, Taylor, in July of 2019. I cherish my family time! We live in the small town of Yutan, just west of Omaha. We enjoy the quiet small town, and we thrive on the busy city just minutes away!
