Sit at a table in a quiet place in your home where you can work successfully without distractions (cell phone, gaming devices, pets, food).
Be present, an active participant and communicate proactively with teacher.
Check Google Classroom and e-mail several times throughout the school day.
When we Zoom, be on time, wear school appropriate clothing & ensure all materials needed are readily available. (Camera should be on and your face should be in full view.

At Russell Middle School each student is expected to complete assigned schoolwork. Independent practice is critical to mastery of learning; therefore, it is our expectation that students who come to class without having completed homework be scheduled additional opportunities to complete the work. If students are missing an assignment they will be assigned a consequence through the following schedule:

Major Office Referral
All students will have the opportunity for reteaching and retaking assessments. Students will have five school days to retake the assessment after the original assessment is returned to them. Students must complete a retake form for re-teaching prior to retaking the assessment. If students choose not to complete the retake form and tasks they will not be allowed to retake the assessment.
Students will have an opportunity to earn grade through assignments, in- class activities, assessments, projects, and weekly learning checks. All grades are posted on the Synergy Portal.

Students will continue the study of multiplication and division of whole numbers and addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of decimals and fractions through the study of algebraic equations and expressions. They will also study measurement; coordinate-plane graphing; mean, median, mode, and range; data representations; geometric measurement in two- and three-dimensional figures; percents; ratios; proportions; integers; one-step equations and inequalities.
