The MPS Partners for Education program supports collaborative efforts between schools and our community to promote academic success and personal growth for students. Community partners from businesses, public service, faith-based groups and civic organizations work with school Partners for Education Liaisons to design innovative educational opportunities to meet the unique needs of students and schools.
When school goals are aligned with the expertise, expanded materials, financial resources, and skills of the community organization, partnerships enrich curriculum and enhance learning experiences. Additionally, teachers are better able to meet the individual needs of students, and communication between the school and community is improved.
Community engagement not only makes a positive impact on education by helping to relate academic learning to real-world applications, but it also demonstrates that the community values education and is committed to helping prepare students with the foundation they need to be successful today and into adulthood. All partnerships are built on creating a mutually beneficial relationship between the school and the organization.
