Classroom counseling lessons follow national, state, and district curriculum guidelines and promote success in academic, social/ emotional, and career development. Our District Counseling Core Curriculum focuses on five standards:
Students will acquire the knowledge and skills that contribute to positive engagement and meaningful learning in school and in life.
Students will apply the knowledge, attitudes, and interpersonal skills acquired to help them understand and respect self and others.
Students will demonstrate skills that promote positive well being and personal success.
Students will plan for and make successful transitions within school levels and from school to postsecondary education and/or the world of work.
Students will investigate the world of work in relation to knowledge of self and make informed career decisions.
