Time limit: (depends on your act) 30 seconds up to 1 1/2 minutes. Put your Variety Show Act on for your family. Record your act and/or send in pictures that tell about your talent story. Some form of music must be in your act such as singing, instrument playing, foreground, background music, Garage Band tracks, mp3, Soundzabound, Acapella app, Seesaw, iMovie, iPad, iPhone, etc.

Hello Everyone! This is Mrs. McConnell and I am so excited that you can now use your classroom Seesaw to share your Final music project, songs, activities, audio recordings, and pictures! Thank you, Teachers! Future weekly music activities may be found under the "activities" tab, with 1-2 music activities per week to do -Just for fun!

Week 4: * Your Final and only Music Project will be your "Home Variety Show" talent act that you will perform for your family. You may record on video, sing on microphone, or send a picture with name and title (use record video, photo, mic options) on Seesaw. You may also use iMovie, iPhone, email, and any other ways to record & send in your pics and recordings.

Get your talent act in soon to be added into our 'All-Star iMovie for Families' to watch on Friday May 16- 'Family Home Movie Night.' Talent Show ideas and information for "Home Variety Show" can be found on our Music Website at the top of the Music Webpage.

2) Rhythm Game: Clap the rhythms you see on the right using (ta, ti- ti and rest).

a. Create your own rhythm patterns using items around your house (large or small objects). take a pic or short video with name/class/description, and send it in to lsmcconnell@mpsomaha.org

b. find objects around the house to use as an instruments (drum, table, create your own drum). Tap these rhythms, and the rhythms you've created.

c. create word chains. For example: 4 words - dog, cat, chic-ken, horse = ta, ta, ti- ti ta (using word syllables)

Our goal: All K-5 students send in 1 picture (or recording) of your music project/activity per week. Be sure to give your name & class code- label or tell us what you are doing.

Our State Song, 'Beautiful Nebraska' was written by a refugee from Russia who was inspired by his surroundings when he came to Nebraska. Memorize the words (lyrics) through these beautiful images in the video.

The All-Star Fourth Graders went on a Virtual Tour of Nebraska. Among other sights, they toured the Art Mosaics in the Capital Building and Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, Nebraska. 3) Composer Projects (Optional) --These were started in music class. Remember, a composer is a person who creates (writes) music to play and/or sing. You may choose a person (in a band or soloist) who actually writes (creates) that music. Be sure this person or group writes school appropriate positive music. Send a picture or video of your presentation. (Optional)

Your chosen musician may be early period composers like Beethoven, Bach, and Mozart (extra credit for these). They may be early to mid-century composers like The Beatles, George Glass, Aaron Copland, or they may be newer composers like Steven Spielberg, John Williams (Star Wars), Whitney Houston, John Legend, Will Smith, Lady Gaga, and others as long as it is school appropriate.

Find someone who writes music you are passionate about, and write fun appropriate facts about them. You may present it on any medium you choose, Seesaw, video, mp3 (audio), slide show, I-Movie, Google form, Flipgrid, and other. Send pics and smaller files to: lsmcconnell@mpsomaha.org or Seesaw
