Millard Middle School Solo & Small Ensemble Festival

Saturday, March 28th, 2026

at Millard North Middle School (139th and W. Center)

The purpose of this event is to give students a positive experience and professional feedback on their playing.

• For students in grades 6th, 7th, and 8th.

• Sign up forms are due by March 21st. 

• The cost is $5 per entry. 

• Students will perform for an adjudicator between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. 

• An accompanist is not required. Pianos are available if students provide their own accompanist. 

Event Guidelines

• An original copy of the music (or photocopied if it is copyright free) must be provided for the clinician with all measures numbered. The name of the student, and school, should be clearly marked in the upper right hand corner of the music. Please limit the length of your selected pieces to 3 ½ minutes.

• Each piece must include tempo, dynamics, and composer (if applicable). If the sheet music does not come with these included, students or teachers need to write them in and they need to be played as they are written. Please make sure they are also included on the judge's copy.

• Entry fee checks should be made out to your child's school.

• Students should report to their assigned performance room at MNMS at least 10 minutes before they are scheduled to perform. If a student is not ready to play at their scheduled time, the next student scheduled should go ahead and perform. The student with the conflict will have to fill in at a later time.

• Student will receive verbal comments from the clinician after their performance.

• Directors may pick up music and critique sheets at the end of the day at the check in table. If they are not picked up, they will be mailed to the school marked on the music.

• Millard North Middle orchestra parents will be supervising the hallways, warm-up area, and performance areas. Please cooperate with these volunteers.
