Welcome to third grade! This is my sixth year teaching at Wheeler, and I am very grateful to be apart of the amazing Wheeler community. I was fortunate to student teach in third grade at Wheeler in the Spring of 2021. I taught first grade for three years, and this is my third year in third grade.
I graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a degree in Elementary Education. In 2022, I earned my Master's Degree in Curriculum & Instruction through the University of Nebraska at Omaha CADRE Project.
I am currently in the Doctoral program for Educational Administration at UNO. I enjoy taking classes and being able to apply new learning to our classroom.
I love teaching because teachers are continuously learning. Education is my passion, and I am very lucky to be teaching in the same district I grew up in!
In my free time, I enjoy concerts, crafts, organization, shopping, spending time with my family, and exercising.

Hi, third graders! I am a student at the University of Nebraska Omaha, and I get to learn from Ms. Steensma how to be an awesome teacher! I will graduate in December with my Elementary and Special Education degree. I have taught in first, second, and fifth grade classrooms, so this will be my first time in third grade. I am super excited to be here with you!
I ran on the women's track team at UNO for the past 4 years. I did hurdles and short sprints. I have 3 brothers, and I am the only girl in my family. I also have 3 dogs!
In my free-time, I still love to run and lift weights. I also love reading, taking naps, shopping, and going to concerts. I enjoy traveling (especially to the beach), hanging out with my friends and going out to eat.
